How to compare U.S. laser cutting shops

A laser award fails when a blanking cell, a full fab bay, and a tube-laser cell are treated as the same quote. Name thickness, material, edge quality, and what happens after the nest — then compare listed shops.

Selection rules

  1. Name the material, thickness, and whether this is sheet, plate, or tube. “Laser cutting” is not a process window.
  2. Ask whether forming, hardware, welding, and finish stay on site. A blanking quote and a finished enclosure are different awards.
  3. Separate fiber, CO2, and tube laser. The same building can own more than one; the same nest usually cannot.
  4. Require the same DXF or 3D, material spec, edge/dross limit, grain direction, and quantity from every shortlisted shop.
